Waking up in Tuscany does not suck. Where else in the world can you open your door in the morning and photograph these rolling hills with the fog rolling through and changing the scene by the minute. We walked up on the hill one morning to join the horses by the ancient oak tree, and watched the sunrise over this magical Tuscan landscape. A highlight this year for me was arriving at San Antimo just after the service, as the monks were putting things away and the Sanctuary was still full of incense. The light streaming down from the high windows was truly spectacular in this very holy structure. I’ve rarely felt more inspired.
