Whether photographing people or landscapes, Drake’s interests lie in creating an intimate connection with the viewer. His style has been described as “fresh classic” by portrait photographers, influenced by his years in Italy, and also by the style of his father Don Busath. His landscape and cityscape images are also intimate views, isolating and dissecting to illustrate an impression rather than an object.
